On March 24, 2014 DSAM’s Board members paid a courtesy visit to Dato’ Sri Hasan Bin Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC). MDTCC oversees direct selling and issuance of licenses in Malaysia.
During this visit, there was a cordial discussion on current issues and the future of direct selling. With the setting up of the Steering Committee to start-off the “Direct Selling Blue Print”, the Minister reaffirms the Government’s continuous support and commitment towards this industry.
The recently launched “Direct Selling Blue Print” with its short, medium and long range goals, aims to steer and further elevate direct selling in Malaysia into an ethical and rewarding industry. It will create independent distributors who will embrace the industry by choice and making it their full time profession. It also seeks to provide the highest quality products for consumers and ultimately achieve USD27 billion in estimated annual retail sales in 2020.
