The WFDSA and the Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) celebrated their 35th Anniversaries at a Gala Dinner on September 18, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur.
DSAM President Frederick Ng and the Board, together with the WFDSA Chairman Alessandro Carlucci commemorated this auspicious occasion. YB Dato’ Hasan Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives and Consumerism graced the event and joined in the festivities.
Earlier in the day during the 35th Anniversary Convention, WFDSA Chairman Carlucci and Mr. Ng respectively announced the mounting success of the direct selling industry in Malaysia. At USD 4.7 billion (retail sales) in 2012, Malaysia now ranks 4th in the Asia Pacific region and 8th globally (in terms of retail sales). Mr. Ng added that with the recent launch of the “Direct Selling Blue Print” by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, a progressive growth in the industry is forecasted.
