2012 was another good year for the Direct Selling industry!
• Global retail sales reached US$166.9 billion, up 5.4%!
• 80% of our countries experienced sales increases.
• The Direct Selling Community increased by 6% to 89.7 million individuals.
The Top 5 countries accounted for just over 60% of global sales:
#1 United States US$ 31.6 billion 19% of global sales
#2 Japan 22.7 billion 14%
#3 China 20.0 billion 12%
#4 Brazil 14.6 billion 9%
#5 South Korea 13.3 billion 8%
There are 23 markets now in the “Billion Dollar Club.” These 23 countries account for 93% of global sales. Congratulations to the 2 new countries joining the group in 2012:
• India US$ 1.1 billion
• Philippines 1.0 billion
