International Women’s Day – Message from WFDSA Executive Director Tamuna Gabilaia

Today is March 8, an International Women’s Day.  This day has a special meaning to me as it celebrates women all over the world, from all walks of life.

As a woman in a leadership position working for most amazing, diverse, inclusive and empowering industry on earth which is blind to race, age, social status education level and the  list goes on, I feel immense joy and satisfaction waking up every day, going to work and knowing that I work with absolutely brilliant, caring, dedicated, humble, positive colleagues and friends in the  industry that makes a real and meaningful difference every day, around the world – in every type of economy and political system.

Our industry is one of the most vibrant forms of microenterprise on the planet.  We transform not only the lives of individuals, but also empowering communities and driving positive change in society at large.

Our industry is helping people everywhere, particularly women build skills that will serve them well for the rest of their lives, whether they stay in direct selling or move on to a new field.  After all, 75 percent involved in direct selling are women!

We’re providing hope and opportunity to tens of millions of people around the world, and many are the people who need hope and opportunity the most.

We’re helping developed and developing economies compete and rise to the challenges in this era of globalization.

This is an amazing business – totally unlike any other. In the process, we make lifelong friendships like I have with many of you and earn psychic compensation that far, far outstrips any salary and benefits we might also earn.

I want to thank all the amazing, inspirational, kind, dedicated women who are involved in our industry!  Let’s continue to move forward with the same strong beliefs, the same courage and especially the same optimism that have made direct selling… the best business in the world.

Have an amazing day!
